Many cars look the same to me; there isn't much of a difference in appearance between a Toyota Camry, a Volvo S60, Nissan Altima, Chevy Malibu, Volkswagen Passat, or a Mazda Whatever. A practical car doesn't have to be boring (Honda Civic!). I would rather restore and update (airbags, etc.) my Volvo 240 than buying a new Blah. Think 59' Cadillac, a 40' Ford Pickup, others??
Maybe this Idea is more about customization--give the buyer the opportunity to create a car of their own with different features. Just as modular housing allows for customization without expensive planning, car makers could offer the same flexibility. Thoughts?
Yes, this is more expensive, but I think the consumer will pay for it.
