I just read of yet another death of a child left in a hot car, and it got me thinking.

A child car seat should have an alarm built in to it, so that if the temperature gets too hot, and it knows a child is in it (because the belts are buckled), it simply triggers a series of events. First, it sets off an alarm that anyone can hear like a car alarm. Next, if that alarm is not disabled within say 5 minutes, the system would call your cell phone, and maybe even 911. It could even have some type of built in cooling system to cool down your child while they wait.

Such a simple thing could save a child's life. And could save a parent or caretaker's life. Can you imagine living with that?
