I have written a series of childrens books for our grandson Joshua, that are all about each adventure we had together. For instance When we took him to Lake Tahoe, Nevada and he saw his first bear, he was just old enough to talk and he said "Papa I see a bear" then everytime we went on a drive he would ask us "Where's the Bear"?(c) 2006. So my first book was called (Where's the Bear)..and it was a story written about that special day. I have since written several books for our grandson, and when he is older he will have a library of childrens books based on the special times he spent with Papa a.k.a. grandpa and grandma. So I would like to have a publisher buy my idea to form a company that would write childrens books based on individual experiences with their grandparents that were special. How it would work is the family would send a draft of their special day, along with some photo's and the publishing company would have writers to write the book making the grandchilds experience come alive in a childrens book, it could be like scrapbooks, story book style. We already know our grandson treasures his book set. We keep it safe for when he is older for his children/grandchildren and have a copy of each one to bring out for visits to reflect on those special times. We feel the single most important way to show your love to a child or grandchild is to spend quality time with them, record the memories and that is what will stick in their minds. Material things are temporary, but memories can last a lifetime. *In addition books could be written about anyone you had a special occassion/s with to put that special memory in book form. This is not only an idea, but a gift dedicated to our grandson Joshua ,to preserve our special memories. It woud also be great for anyone with the onset of Alzheimers disease and other medical conditions, because the books words and pictures are a stimuli for memory.
