Millions of environmentally aware baby boomers are retiring and need an alternative to the eco-intensive retirement communities dominating the market today. This is where E-tirement Communities steps in. E-tirement Communities will replace the standard golf course and faux-tiled roofs with native plants, community gardens, and solar panels. The goal of E-tirement Communities is to lessen the environmental impact of retirees through community design and landscaping, use of efficient building materials and appliances, onsite power production, water harvesting, water recycling, and implementing other practical, site-specific methods.
I am aware of the current practices of many retirement communities and believe recent and soon to be retirees place a premium on their environmental impact.
