No kid I know likes to be preached at in an institutional enviroment, but when you educate with creativy, they are hooked...That is one reason why you will find this unconventional style, to include the print, the grammar etc.. The objective of this book of poetry, is to educate against gang violence, and associated activities, in hopes to discourage negative behaviors, and bring to the forefront an awareness of the consequences of involvement with gang activity, and that those consequences reach farther than just the individuals involved, as they almost always claim innocent victims. THIS BOOK IS DEDICATED TO ALL THE VICTIMS OF VIOLENT CRIMES. This is an educational book of poetry, and each poem tells the consequences of being in a gang.  The poems in this book were written by myself Victoria Evelyn Lainhart and our daughter Kim Rachell Lainhart Lira, and the art is done by an artist and friend who lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil (Brazil).. The art is the artists interpretation of each poem, which illuminates the subject matter of each poem . In the end of the book it contains help resources. The book was written and published in two forms, one is spiral bound, and the other is put in binders for students from middle school through college. "Gang War" the book was test piloted in a major school district in the Sacramento, Ca area and widely received by law enforcement and students. The poetry and art is not only thought provoking, which inspired conversations, but also sparked an interest among the students to write their own poetry/and or art projects. I would also like to see someone/s put music to the poetry in this book to expand it's message content potential into the music business to touch even more youth, and adults.
