My idea is a website that is very similar to an e-harmony or match.com, but instead of bringing together singles, it brings together Moms with common interests.
As a Mom, I find it ideal when I have another Mom to hang out with that:
1. Is compatible with me--we get along well.
2. Our kids are similar in ages and get along well.
3. We live close to each other.
That is what I consider to be the "Play Date Trifecta." And it works really well if you know lots of other Moms. But what if you're new to a city? Or you're having kids before your friends do? Or you just simply don't know that many Moms to hang with?
That's why we need a Mom's Hookup site! You'd fill out essentially a quiz that would be used to generate a compatibility rating with Mom's in your area. The quiz covers parenting philosophy, your personality, your kids personality, your schedule, etc.. And the end result is a list of Mom's near you that have a high "Mom Compatibility Factor". You'll have the opportunity to review their profile, and connect with them online to see if you are both interested in setting up outings with your children. It's really like a dating site without the dating.
It's way more fun to take your kids to the park, the museum, the library.... whatever, when you have a good friend along with you. This site can make those connections easier!
This could be a standalone site, or an extension of another parenting website, or organization (MOPS for example).
Mother of 2 young girls, who happens to have moved recently. I miss my old mom friends, and I am "on the prowl" (in a non-creepy way) to find cool Moms to hang with in my new city!
