As an American I feel very conflicted about the Olympics. I want to support the athletes who have dedicated themselves to the events and their country. I don't want to support the policies of an undemocratic country that doesn't seem to value human life. The idea here is a compromise. A one day blackout of the Olympics either just before the proceedings or just after. No propaganda about how things have changed, no disrespect for the athletes who are excited to perform. No media consumption on that day (see www.ideastox.com/mediafreeday) . Is there another way to do this? Please chime in if you support some version of this idea.
