There is a great deal of research to show that boys and girls who are separated in the classroom, at all ages, have a greater ability to focus and are more comfortable participating. While we have single sex universities and high schools, we do not have many single sex elementary programs. Even at youngs ages, boys and girls exhibit great distinctions in how they learn and at what pace. Schools don't have to be single sex, but schools should consider offering single sex classes.
