Toilets use a lot of water and make a lot of noise but sometimes flushing is - shall we say - unavoidable. As vacuum cleaners and dishwashers have incorporated silencing technologies in recent years, can we not come up with similar technology for toilets? Quiet flush, less disruption at night. Simple. And something that can be attached to existing toilets, as opposed to replacing them (unless they are not water-savers in which case it's a good investment to replace).
