I'm a forty-one year old, husband of fourteen years and father of two boys. I am an apprentice woodworker and volunteer firefighter and EMT.
I am researching the invention process and trying to move ahead with ideas. This idea stuff, if taken to its rightful end, is not for the faint of heart.

This idea may be guilty of overkill, as I just cited for another toilet related idea but heck, I still like it and want to share it.
One way to get kids to use the toilet at an early age is to let them look at a book. Problem is, they can't really hold a book and hold on - for dear life - to the toilet seat. This is a natural problem because most of them, from 2/3 to 4/5 need to hold the seat for fear of falling in, and really have no place to place their reading material. As a result, you often have kids jumping on and off the toilet to get a book, pick it up after they have dropped it, turn a page, whatever they feel like doing, and with the result being, well, whatever it was. It can get messy.
The Toilet Stool sits, as a result of good design, in just the right place. And it holds a book or two without getting in the way. I have ideas for alternative designs as well, depending on the shape of the bathroom.
Now there is a school of thought that says reading on the potty can be bad. I'm betting that when it comes to toilet training, most parents agree that anything which keeps the child happy and stationary, is a good thing.
