This is a portable stairway you can set up anywhere around your pool and submerge the steps. It is secured to the side by a water reservoir that is filled. This creates the counter balance to hold the stairs in place. The weight it holds is up to 60lbs. The intention is small animals that have fallen in the pool will not drown from exhaustions but use the stairs to climb out. Many pools have ladders rather than steps and the animal cannot pull themselves out. This option is cheep (projected cost for production are low) and under $50.00 a person can fill up the reservoir and it is ready to go. No damage to the pool or deck around. If you need to remove it drain it and it is light, lift it up out of the way.
I am a teacher in LA and a dear friend lost their small dog in their pool. My father is also a vet and this story is all to common.
