I think it's great that we have an abundance of gyms and health clubs throughout the world and it's also good that we have found ways to incentivize people to exercise, feel good, look better, release stress... And now we have the ability to watch TV on our own personalized screens. Fantastic if you are bored or if there is actually something you want to see. And who isn't bored on a treadmill for some solitary chunk of time, right? Well, and I can't wait to see what you all think of this, I actually like zoning out completely most of the time when I run on a treadmill in a gym. I like watching what is going on around me, looking in the mirror every so often and most of all just getting lost in my random thoughts. I think it's a bit like meditation though I can't seem to get that activity down. Point is, even when I can turn off the screen (right front of my face), it' still there, obstructing the view around me. I'd like to propose eliminating personal screens from half the treadmills, stairmasters, bikes and cardio equipment in gyms, and starting at Sports Club/NY on the West Side of Manhattan, NYC. It is such a great space and I miss being able to enjoy it.
